2025-26 Registration is Open! Early Bird rates until July 18th!

Jun. 25, 2025

Hello Wildcat families!

We're excited to announce that registration for the 2025-26 Kitchener Ringette season is now open! Whether you're returning to the ice or joining us for the first time, we can't wait to welcome you for another fun and rewarding season! Register now to secure your spot and enjoy discounted fees.

All our registration information (age groups, pricing) is available on our website:

http://kitchenerringette.com/content/registration-information

As a reminder, all of our registrations happen through the RAMP system:

Some reasons to register early:

- A $50 early bird discount on all registrations (ends July 18)!

- Knowing how many players we will have (approximately) at each age level will help us to organize teams and coaches over the summer, so that we can be better prepared to get started in September. This is especially true for Regional players, so please don't wait until September to register!

A few things for this year!

1) The Ringette Ontario fee (insurance, national sport organization registration) is now included as part of the listed fee that you see when registering.

2) We are now offering split payments! Recognizing that paying the entire fee when we are still a few months from hitting the ice can be a significant burden, we now offer a $100 payment upon registration, with the balance due by Sept 1, 2024. If you pay by credit card, the remainder will be automatically charged on that date.

3) FUN prices are still extra FUN! If you know any new players who would like to try ringette, please tell them about our FUN program. FUN1 and FUN2 are over 24 weeks of programming. That's a whole lot of fun learning to play ringette! New this season Fun 1 have the option of enrolling for the whole season or a half season. Additionally, our FUN3 program is value-packed at $500 for the season (early bird rate).

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out - we're happy to help! Thank you for being part of our vibrant ringette community. We look forward to seeing you at the rink!

Some notes on our fees for 2025-2026

You will probably have noticed that the fees for all our age groups have gone up from last year. This price increase is something that the board carefully considered, especially as our financial situation came into clearer view at the end of our fiscal year this spring.

In terms of process, we had four board members working to set our fees for this year. That subcommittee worked for about a month before bringing their recommendations on fees to the entire board, where we had a robust discussion before approving the current fee structure. Our goal every year is to balance our budget, however for the past two seasons we have run at a deficit. Over this time, player fees have increased slightly, and player fees at all FUN levels have been subsidized. Our FUN fees continue to be subsidized this year.

For transparency, here are some items that are included in the player registration fee:

  • $90 from each registration goes directly to Ringette Ontario (RO). This covers players for insurance and other RO-related services (of which there are many). This amount has gone up for this year. RO has published an explanation for the fee increase.

  • Ice costs for all practices and games. The rental fee for ice goes up every year, and this is our single largest expense.

  • Player development. Last season we had teams split the cost of power skating. Based on positive feedback we received, we are planning to do this again, but to include the cost in player registration. So that's an added four to five sessions per team for no additional cost to the team (actual number of sessions will depend on scheduling and registration numbers). The board felt that it would be worth it from a player development perspective to provide this for all teams.

  • Referee and minor official fees for all games.

  • Costs to replace equipment, including rings, jerseys, first aid kits, loaner equipment, etc.

Given the increase in costs, we are making changes that will have a minimal impact on player experience, including some changes to the way we do team photos, increased fundraising efforts at Golden Ring, planning our ice allocations carefully to ensure cost recovery for all ice, and planning for equipment renewal lifecycles.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to Peter at president@kitchenerringette.com if you have any questions or concerns about this.
